LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER

Lee Papa, Publisher

Hello Readers,

I love this month’s quote: “Life isn’t about FINDING yourself. Life is about CREATING yourself.” As we move into what we are coining the “New Real Estate,” it is important to understand that we all are the creators of our own life (without getting too metaphysical on you). This new era in Real Estate will define the profession in more ways than all the booms in the nation could. I am very excited about this challenging time because times like this are when people become imaginative. People are forced to look at things differently. Sure, anyone can (and I think anyone did) get in the business when the market is hot, but it is the true professional who can weather the storm and see the pot of gold at the end of that rainbow. The pot may be smaller but it is sweeter and shinier and will surely impact and improve the profession and its reputation in the eyes of the public.

In this month’s issue we profile three very diverse individuals, but if I put them in a room together, I am certain they would come up with common ground. These individuals are not just professionals, but are also wonderful examples of balanced people. They are passionate about their work but are just as passionate about their personal lives and families. This is so important especially in times of stress (which this market can often provide) because it is the determination to maintain balance that brings us the peace and attitude to go on. Working hard, sure, but also the allowing of the business to come to you makes for successful, well balanced people. I respect these individuals and have learned something from each one. Thank you.

This month we have pumped up the volume—so to speak—and have provided you with a very robust publication. So in addition to reading the snippets that I provide, grab a cup of coffee and settle in to read wonderfully written articles on each of the columns and take as much time as you need. They are worth it. All of them!

Guy Amato, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas is profiled by Doug Shields in the article “Helping a Family Build a Future.” By now, you must know that this is one of the favorite charities of those in the Real Estate business. Learn why this is such a successful program. Also, for only $75 per person you can get involved and go to the year’s largest Habitat Las Vegas fundraising event being held on November 8, 2007. The phone number is provided at the end of the article.

Michael “Buzz” Buserini is our Local Profile REALTOR® with Keller Williams, and I would use words like passionate, respectful, positive, professional, successful, kind and fun-loving to describe him and his team. Buzz says in his article, “Certain things you have to be gifted at, but most things just require practice.” He says that a challenging Real Estate market only allows the most dedicated agents to survive. Luck is part of success, he says, and “hard work creates its own luck.” Exactly!

Laura Sullivan, owner of My Favorite Design, is our Profile 2 written by Michelle Savage. I have had the privilege of knowing Laura peripherally for years. She is wicked smart, massively talented and has a heart larger that these new high-rises on Las Vegas Boulevard. She is a lovely person and a tremendous asset to anyone in need of her services. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Laura. You will not be sorry for referring her or utilizing her services yourself. Laura says, “In my business, I only work with people who respect my clients and their time, and who demonstrate quality workmanship.” Now, if we all could just work under those same beliefs and guidelines, wouldn’t the reputation and profession of Real Estate just shoot through the roof?

Make sure you stop by our other columns for your monthly fix of Lifestyles by Rita Templeton, and Design Connection with Stephen Leon reconnecting with his old friend “Beverly,” and Brenda Calvin exploring the Feng Shui of High-Rise Buildings in Vertical Update.

I am very excited to announce the new line of E RealEstateExec “EREE” Gear. Our logo “Charlie” has become so popular that we wanted to give you the opportunity to have this cheerful Real Estate representative persona with you every day. Visit our “Get EREE Gear” link and purchase them all.

Happy BirthdayOn a personal note, I would like to mention that there are three very special birthdays this month that I would like to acknowledge; they are my best friend Donna, my husband Didier and my business partner Rebecca. These three individuals have helped shaped my life in many ways, and as I celebrate you all this month I want to thank you for being such an integral part of my life in such a beautiful and creative way. I love you all.

Have a fabulous month and get in EREE GEAR!
